I agree, to call this a "feature" is like calling a cancerous mole

This is clearly a bug - whether it's a bug caused by a programming
error, or whether it's a bug cause by human error in the planning stage
("let's implement this new "feature" without giving users a convenient
option to

I request to have this bug un-marked as a dupe of Bug #973096 and have
it separately triaged.
Bug #973096 is definitely related to the graphics drivers.
I'm fairly certain this is not a duplicate bug, as my

I've been running minecraft 1.4.2 fine since it came out, but just today
Java has started crashing every time I play it.
The menu screen seems fine, but once I log onto an actual server and
start playing I get between 2 and 30 seconds of gameplay before
everything crashes out
I can't find a way to report the bug as fixed, so I'll just mention it
here.
There were a couple medibuntu libraries that had been getting omitted
from recent updates through update-manager, due to gpg signature issues
with the medibuntu repo.
After manually updating via command-line the crashy b
Just did a complete system update (June 14, 2010) then re-installed the
nvidia drivers.. Rebooted, everything looks good!
Will try rebooting again, if you don't hear any more from me you can
consider this bug closed.
