sounds, you can install over the top and it retains your home dirs and users.

The keyboard input stops working after a soft reset (and only after a

Of note: Please note that XorgLog.txt shows the keyboard being set-up
properly after a hard reset.
Also, XorgLogOld.txt refers to a bootup after a soft reset. Note that
the keyboard setup is absent.

Doesn't seem as though the problem has been solved in more recent kernel
release candidates (2.6.30-020630rc5-generic), although, of course, that
could be because it's not a kernel problem in the first place.
