* Dell Vostro 220's running Vista home basic (32bit) also exhibit the problem,
but much less often than Ubuntu 9.04
* laptops running Ubuntu 9.04 with different ethernet chips don't have the
problem.
So at this point the Cisco gear (switches & firewalls) is pretty muc

(actually, I had to increase my timeout to over nine minutes!) - the
true cause of the issue is a bug in kvm-84.
kvm-85 will start even large VMs very quickly, obviating the need to

Bug 274780 relates to removing a device before resume. As I read you
description, you plug in a new device prior to resume, correct? What
happens if you wait until the resume is complete and then plug in the
device? These drivers depend on the system sensing the device being

The error information for this report is from a Hardy system but the freeze is
from a Jaunty LiveCD. Is it possible to upgrade to current Jaunty and report
the result? The cause of the freeze is unclear without that information.

After confirming the issue remains with the latest update, be sure to
also run the following command from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and

If you don't like the presence info, you can turn it off using gconf-
editor. The option is found in / -> apps -> fast-user-switch-applet and
is show_presence_info.

Gah sorry Polygon, I replied to your comment as opposed to your original

Works here after working out dependency errors similar to mp's above.
However, the libfaad* stuff that it installed seems to have nuked
libfaad.so.0, which broke Avidemux among other things (error == can't
find libfaad.so.0). So yes, it works but there seems to be a load of
dependency issues with t
