The control center has no pre-made shortcut for screen brightnesss.
There should at least be an option for screen brightness up and down, as
there is for sound volume up and down, even if no keys are set by
default. As it is, one has to make a complex work-around involving a

The key is already added to the other machine and the text utility
sftp(1) works just fine with the key while in the same session PCManFM
does not. What is the way to get verbose logging output from PCManFM?
Running it in the terminal with no options provides no extra output when
the login fails.

This was more a case of worked other than expected. Since it provided
feedback ("OK") I had expected that it would also say about the key's
presence. So maybe the script is better silent. I have been using it
manually and not in another script and usually have followed up with
"apt-key list" to

When resuming an edit in Gedit, the ibus daemon flares up, abusing the
CPU for a short while. This happens every time lately. All that's
needed is to switch windows back to Gedit and resume editing. Then the
CPU usage spikes for a moment before going back down. I would exp
