Can you please run liferea under valgrind? The problem can be a memory
corruption, so we need it to detect it.
To do it, install valgrind from the repositories, and run:
valgrind liferea | liferea-valgrind.log
And then attach the file liferea-valgrind.log

The nividia-legacy driver doesn't support desktop-effects, so that is the
expected behavior.
If you have one of the cards which support has been dropped on the latest
update, you can install the driver 9631, (which will be in Feisty), as you can

Please, try to reproduce it launching compiz with desktop-effects. We
don't support gnome-compiz-manager.
Which video card do you have? Which driver?
Can you also attach a screenshot of your problem?

Please, install the liferea and liferea-mozilla packages from
http://emilio.pozuelo.org/deb/ and run liferea with the following command:
liferea --debug-net --debug-verbose > liferea-net.log
Then crash liferea and attach the resulting file liferea-net.log

Did you reinstalled the package from the url? Note that the package
changed since the last time, though the version is the same. Please, if
you didn't reinstalled it, do it and retest it :)
