Actually gnome-icon-theme is installed!
could this be something other than
before lucid , and since then it is completely broken.
I believe that whomever changed this was coding on a laptop and simply
removed what they thought was useless code !

hey guys...
As i recall.. sometime back... when the auto-hide was enabled in ccsm. unity
plugin...the launcher panel would be hidden until moused over and the icons
would shift position when it came out of auto-hide I may be remembering
that wishfully.

I have used both mac and pc with linux... the statement about global menu
applies to mac as well... on a wide screen and especially on dual monitors...it
is a very bad design at its basic concept...

Resize grip always
do is determine the resolution of both monitors... example..my total
is 2560x1024, so I either google for images at the resolution or
edit/create one in gimp.
This is more than a pain in the rear and several steps backwards for
linux ...but no one is addressing this and ,,by the way ,,, it
me from reinstalling lucid as a serious work
environment and I cannot ask my clients to upgrade to Lucid because of these
bugs.
