I had the same problenm as fred.
Command relating sudo dpkg configure ... did not succeed.
Thanks to Kimr1508 i tried the command line starting with sudo apt as
suggested. Another error occoured, prompting me to do the command sudo
dpkg again.

The issue you're describing seems to be related to a bug where Samba,
running as an Active Directory (AD) master, fails to register a client
and produces an "invalid opcode" error. This issue is noted in the

Using ReImage for 1000 Images, slowly a lot notification comming until

For those who are stuck, following manual upgrade path worked for me.
sudo sed -i
's|http://ports.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-ports|http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu|g'
/etc/apt/sources.list
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y
sudo sed -i 's|lunar|mantic|g' /etc/apt/sources.list
sudo apt update &&
The libsamba-util-dev package may require samba4-dev to function
properly, as it depends on Samba 4 libraries for full compatibility.
Installing samba4-dev should resolve the issue and allow both packages
to work together effectively.

There are three approaches:

scrolled back using the terminal feature which indeed is going to show
