The Intel IPU6 in my Dell Precision 5680 fails in any which way I'm
trying to get it to work with ubuntu 24.04 (kernel 6.8.0-31-generic).
The clickyclicky 'Additional drivers' doesn't work, the oem-solutions-
group/intel-ipu6 PPA doesn't work. The failures are various, from not
even having a /dev/v

Hmm, I may have to revise this. It seems mpg321 (with ALSA, which is how
I've always tested the audio output) just doesn't work at all on any
model; just complains about libao driver everywhere.

a bug report generated so I ran valgrind against it:

The issue was introduced with https://github.com/shadow-
maint/shadow/pull/237
Basically, the previous group validation was done using glibc's getgrid
directly, which was presumably coping well with the RO status of
/etc/group, but that poses consistency problems because you could add a
local user

Still having this problem on 24.04 LTS with the latest upgrades. It
happens rarely, systemctl -b -1 says:

From Kernel 6.5 and above, the serial driver now claims multiple UART
ports by default, when the previous behaviour was it would only claim 1.
