I am experiencing this issue as well. I had secure boot turned off -
turned it back on, regenerated initramfs, and still have the problem.
How does one change the compression method?

I added COMPRESS=gzip to /etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf and ran
update-initramfs -u, and did NOT see the fail on the ensuing boot.

Oddly enough, it seems to only happen when Microsoft Teams is open. I
just noticed that it wasn't happening, but the moment I open Teams, it
started to happen again. Note: MS Teams is NOT the program that won't
stay minimized--it is any program.

Have ubuntu 20.04 development branch on my laptop and my desktop.
Noticed yesterday, my laptop was idle for a while and the power light
was on and keypress didnt wake it up. Pressing power button didnt wake
it up either.
