accept the password for the encrypted root partition. The password used
has worked before the upgrade.
I have tried typing the password with English keyboard layout as my

After finishing the installation, I wasn't able to start the OS again

BIOS settings for USB-Boot were set to UEFI-Boot, though.
I changed the settings in BIOS, no need to change anything on the

When I did so manually I got stuff to work fine. Most 3rd party binaries
use dot target libcurl3 as there was no libcurl4 package when in fact
they'd work fine against libcurl4 since the ABI did nto change between

There are no usefull logfiles. Either dmesg nor syslog show anything usefull.
I am connected now. Problem exists like always.
dmesg only show the mac-addresses (privacy) that its connecting to.
syslog only show no errors. Just:
NetworkManager[804]: [1525771468.8177] manager: NetworkManager stat

Further to my last comment, I'm wondering whether the actual number of
bytes that can be successfully mmap()ed is determined by how many other
pages are already mmap()ed. Therefore I've set CDR_FIFOSIZE=6m in my

The number of bytes being mmap()ed (12587008 bytes) may well be set in
/etc/wodim.conf, where the following line appears by default:
CDR_FIFOSIZE=12m
Commenting out this line seems to solve the immediate problem, as only
8192 bytes are now mmap()ed--but I have not tested it with a read CD-R
disc,
An additional note is that this also seems to occur when I unlock my
notebook and the settings is not yet open (but I used it before locking
it).

18.04, although - no nvidia driver(s) installed. Really a clean install.
I tried installing the nvidia driver, but then I came across a different
issue, which seems to be related to bug #1752053.
