I beg to differ. The drive is brand new and fine. Took me some days to
work it out, as the issues do not present themselves in Windows. The

I am on Ubuntu 17.10 and I got the same issue. No working workaround
because running APT updates from a text-only console is impossible due
that CTRL+ALT+F6 (F1..F6) shows only a lighting cursor and can't login
in a console.

Was just bitten by this as well. etc/resolv.conf was pointing at
127.0.1.1.
hydrogen@Bliss:~$ ls -l /etc/resolv.conf

I have just tested this on Fedora 27 under Wayland and Cheese works
correctly when no camera is connected. So I am not sure if this is
really an upstream issue.

I still have the exact same symptoms after the fix was released, but no
longer see crash logs. Any way to tell what is causing the crash? I
assume it's related but don't know how to track it down.

[Copy/Pasted from freedesktop.org] After testing new version of kernel
on Ubuntu 17.10 installation (wayland + systemd) I discovered by chance
that after suspend and unsuspend (systemctl suspend), internal monitor
starts displaying image and everything works (for the first time with
radeon driver).
It only takes a single null character to throw geany. Attached a simple
test file.

The problem is that after resume the protocol of touchpad is removed, file:
/sys/bus/serio/devices/serio1/protocol
If you boot the system loading the kernel with parameter
psmouse.proto=exps
after suspend it nor is removed.
