and the whole problem is that, having run out of inodes, I can't install
anything (nor save files). Cleaning up and rebooting will destroy the
logfiles of interest.

So I have a New Razer Blade Stealth and I guess you also have one.
I fixed the problem installing the razer keyboard driver which you can find
here:

After installing the driver you should see it doing

On dual screen setup, during system login, the first screen stretches
over a part of the second screen (about 25% of it), whereas the rest of
the second screen is black. Like this:

As it turned out, the leftern part of the right screen is already part
of the right screen (not a overstretched part of the left screen.
To illustrate it, I marked it red on a photo (attached).

process is not finished.
