On my Lenovo YOGA 300 it seems that the bug might be related with "time"
or "weakening" of the WI-FI signal:
all works fine initially but then within tens of minutes the network
icon and the Network itself goes OFF
I can give it a shake and reset it with the Network applet and the first
few times
I'm also facing the same issue. Top menu applet display menu bar
properly on the panel, however on clicking any menu item, it crashes the
application itself. I'm using Ubuntu-mate-16.10.

I've a bunch of questions. Any time you see EGL complaints, it is often
down to the graphics driver.
1. is this complaint for an NVidia-based system only? The log indicates
it has the proprietary nvidia driver installed, which Mir does not
support (and so Unity8 does not run). How are you testing?
This feels like this generally needs improving, with automatic mounting
of hugepage FS for different pagesize options - so for example:
/dev/hugepages1G
/def/hugepages
with appropriate apparmor changes as well for libvirt to allow access to
common paths on Ubuntu systems.

I found a different way to fix the damage, which seems to be easier and less

Sometimes unity silently disappears (still displayed on screen, but
cannot be iinteracted with, and tty `pidof unity` finds no running
process). When restarting unity with `unity --replace`, the following
happens:

Perhaps this bug should be reported against the current Zesty state but the
chromium-browser in Zesty is stuck at version 53 which is practically unusable
with many HTTPS sites because of erroneous security warnings. The same thin
happened on Yakkety and a version bump to 5
Sorry... defect is yet persisting with the 4.2.0-16.19 kernel build. I
purged it back off our server. Booted back to 4.4.0-59.

That's just vim being excessively conservative by default. Its sh
syntax highlighter defaults to the very old Bourn

I am facing this issue too, but I solved that problem by turning on the
Internet, and I do not check "Install updates during installation".
Anyone who have this bug should turn the Internet on.
