I did the following and the monitor is way too bright.
Install lowlatency kernel.
$ sudo apt-get install linux-lowlatency-lts-vivid
After small kernel upgrade, I want to keep the current kernel number, so I
remove the meta package.
$ apt purge linux-lowlatency-lts-vivid lin
This commit was made to upstream as a workaround, for missing qt
patches, so would be a minimal fix suitable for an SRU.

The target selection was based on what's upstream in the debian
Since I fear ubuntu is unable to detect correctly my keyboard at startup after
