I e-mailed Benoît regarding this matter. After looking at these bugs, I
think it might be possible to resolve this issue by moving the log file
creation (via log_init) into the ELSE statement when checking for the
debug flag.
After some brief testing, this seems to look ok.
I'll attach a patch.

dino99, regarding the nvidia failure, stating it's seen widely over forums is
not terribly helpful if you want to see whatever the issue you are experiencing
addressed. It would be best to file a new report on that via a terminal and put
specific detail as to how it's failing (logs, crash, etc.)
After read many other post related to synaptic,touchpads and new laptop,
I have tried with the option:

in the kernet boot options
