The behaviour is exactly the same though (black screen w/ backlight on)

Here I am, I'm still on Trusty but I downgraded both xserver-xorg-video-
nouveau and libdrm-nouveau2 to Saucy. These bunch of log files are
referred to this situation, after downgrade. Now the dash seems ok, no
glitches. With proprietary drivers no glitches too.

If there is anything else you need me to do just let me know. unfortunately I
was unable to run the command immediately after the bug happened I was forced
to restart the system twice if what you need is not there let me know and ill
set up a remote shell to run the comm

Sorry, I don't use ubuntu (directly) anymore. The requirement for running
compiz made it impossible to suspend/resume consistently day after day (it
would usually fail withing a day or 2), so was unusable for me (having it
close all my apps and exit to the login screen was totally unacceptable).
