Yeah, my system boots fine with 3.10.0-4 if I remove all of the i915
parameters in GRUB too. Those parameters used to be required to get a

Funny Story :
I had this bug infinite number of times. I was not able to work at all.
The system would get to log-in window and crash after a few seconds.
Once I was able to work a whole minuet before restar
I've tested the 3.10 kernel from the Ubuntu kernel PPA for some more
time, and haven't had any more issues with mouse responsiveness, so I
guess that's resolved. There's just the issue that I have to manually
re-enable Bluetooth and WiFi on every startup.

Anyway, googling for the error message suggests that lots of people hit
this; its a hard-coded constant in an X11 header file; it would need to
be changes and have X11 recompiled, or made into a run-time configurable
parameter.
Lets just hope that Wayland doesn't have this problem ...
