Dave, if you wanted to fix this bug, you'd need to add a patch to modify
clamtk.desktop to add a Keywords= line.
I've since learned that GNOME Shell now ignores the comments line now so
it definitely has to be Keywords.

OK, I've done a lot of testing now. First of all this does seem to be
related to bug #960089. It's hard to explain other than to say certain
hardware is more adversely effected than other hardware. And certainly
those using a laptop with only a touchpad are pretty much up a creek w/o
a paddle.
