Oooff! Got it working! Needed the fdisk -l to get the right pathway
correct (it was hda1, not sda1). Funny, when I looked at Disk Manager
under a LiveCD it said it was sda1. Got everything working now though!

With the the 2.6.35-24 kernel I could not control backlight brightness
using the samsung tools (Fn-Up/Fn-Down) at all. I had to add a further

I pulled the packages from the PPA and latest 2.6.37-11-generic
(~lucid1) kernel, all works fine! No Oops. Of course, it needs broader
testing since this is roughly RC quality... would be good to release
1.4.14 for the less adventurous and close this bug specifically. Let me
