The issue is not that jasper mangles the provided commandline, but that
it completely ignores it, and sets hardcoded values. Better would be to

JimWright - I was focused on the original reporter's setup, so I missed
your comments in #23. It does appear that this seems to happen most when
the NFS server is saturated, so it makes sense that a loopback mount
would do it. I'll give your setup a try.

Writing big files to NFS target causes
Making me install the xorg-edgers repository would be useless. I have
already tried that, and only ppa-purge saved me from having to wipe the
entire freaking system to reinstall. I never saw any Unix system produce
a more violent crash/lockup/retry cycle than that repository did to my
machine.
