This was solved in my case with the 2.6.32-24.41 update. I was running
2.6.32-24.39 since a few days which has the issue with lvcreate for a
snapshot hanging all IO and this is now resolved.

I think I'm having the same debilitating problem. Especially after
adding a fourth and fifth VM, packet loss would increase over time,
until the host and guests would become completely unreachable. I've
added keep-alive pings to all guests and the host, which seems to be

Are you using the hddtemp or devkit-disks interface to monitor the
temperature of your HDD? There is a known bug in the devkit-disks plugin
which on first load will fail to show the temperature (which is as far

I was not quite right about that: It only happens for errors in the
preamble, those are reported to occur in the master tex file, but on the
same line they actually occur in the preamble. Errors from files \input

Ok, so I figured out how to reproduce this bug:
1. Download attached mp4 file.
2. Open with Totem and you see a broken codec image.
3. Rename file to a 3gp extension
4. Open with Totem and it plays a 5 second video with no problem.

I think you refer to this line:
new=`dpkg -l | grep ^ii | grep $ver |grep linux-| awk -F' ' '{ print $2
}'|xargs`
which identifies all the packages involved with a particular kernel version.
In this case, searching (with grep) for linux- instead of linux-image- has the
same effect, unless y

Problem can be fixed by giving initramfs-tools the order of setting
bootarg FRAMEBUFFER to yes by creating
/etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/splash with content "FRAMEBUFFER=yes" and
updating the initial ramdisk by entering
sudo update-initramfs -u.
