Ok, thanks for the followup. I'm going to go ahead and mark it invalid
since I know people who have used the image just fine (even on the same
hardware) and I believe it more likely to have been caused by an
incomplete download, bad usb stick, or bad write from unetbootin.

segfaulting. In my experience, it was xdebug that was crashing.

I was able to get the "generic-linux-backports" installed and working
correctly with Network Manager. I disabled SSID Broadcasts on both of
my wireless routers and my Dell Mini still can not connect

Ok well like you suggested, I used KernelCheck to compile my latest
kernel, so the process has gotten significantly easier (and Update
Manager no longer nags me all the time to update ^_^).
Proposed Fix Directions:
1. Make sure your system is fully up to date, either by running Update
Manager, or

The thing is that the patches described in Richard's blog have been applied but
none of them seem to have fixed this issue... :(
