That is 'the solution' but that means that I can't open docx-files with
a password. Received files first opening in Word to remove the password
and than opening in OO is not really a solution. Is there some other way
to open it in OO?

I see what seems to be this same problem on my 8.10 server AMI's on EC2. They
freeze predictably after a certain period of activity. I found that memory got
below 35MB free when it froze and my 'top' listing showed kswapd with nice of

When you copy a directory with lots of files/subdirectories the average
copy speed is shown to be some reasonable value only when large files
(like mp3) are being copied.
As soon as the copy process starts copying many small files, the average
speed drops to 0

Confirmed on my laptop too.
With Kubuntu Karmic alpha2 kernel 2.6.31, the 3945 never works.
With Kubuntu Jaunty and kernel 2.6.28, it works for a while and would
disconnect and can never reconnect again until reboot.

How do I find out the program in question?
In the menu it says Applications->Accessories->CD/DVD Creator.
When opening it, a window called "CD/DVD Creator" appears. About says it
is nautilus, but this is not the cd/dvd creator program.

It happened to me as well on the first update after installing alpha-3 on july
24th.
For whom might be interested, to regain tapping again:
on a terminal run gconf-editor
Go to /Desktop/gnome/peripherals/touchpad and activate the
options you want.
