I don't mind keeping the -source package in universe if it helps to
avoid a delta to Debian. If it's generally obsolete (as in "the driver
is upstream in 2.6.24"), it should be dropped completely in both Debian
and Ubuntu to reduce confusion and cruft.

Actually looking more into this along with the gnome bug that is linked
too. This is an issue with Gstreamer and no app using Gstreamer can use
AC3 Passthrough currently, and it has yet to be fixed. If you want to
use AC 3 Passthrough you have to change the backend of Totem to Xine.

A workaround is to use the xine backend. So you install "totem-xine"
from apt and launch "totem-xine" . This is totem using xine for the
backend. I just tested it and AC3 passes fine now. Hopefully gstreamer
will get it together with AC3 passthrough.

I am also experiencing this problem. The samba server is running Vista.
Seems to happen whenever there is a wireless link involved. I have tried both
with my laptop wireless connection running Ubuntu, and my desktop running
Ubuntu 64 over a wireless ethernet bridge (no wireless card). The prob
ACKed.

When the flicker begins, the XVideo output becomes corrupted. Switch to OpenGL
to always have the correct output.
About the 30 seconds freeze, seems to happen when I'm tranferring high
amounts of data trought the Intel Pro/Wireless interface and using

I'm using Ubunt 7.10, Intel dual CPU E4600 2.4Gz, with a Gigabyte M/B
GA-945GCM-S2L (with integrated graphic controller), and a 22" ViewSonic
LCD monitor.
I'm using the normal out of the box Ubuntu (not KDE). Sometimes the
screen decides to shrink and leave a 2" wide black space on the left
side.

I have the same Problem with Firefox Version 2.0.0.12 in Ubuntu 7.10.
It just happend short while ago - can't say exactly when though - maybe since
7.10 because I upgraded only a while ago...
I too like my Firefox on desktop 2 and when I click on a link in a mail in
evolution on desktop 1 it used
To get folders listed. I Have
Start Evolution,
Check new mail and refresh folders ( right click on folders )
Close Evolution
Start Evolution.
I don't know if I use subscriptions or just list everything on the
server.
