That's a surprise...
The only thing I can think of is a different version of the X server, or - more
probably - a different version of the INTEL driver... Do you know the version
numbers under Suze? I would not like to have to change my distrib just for such
a minor (though annoying) bug!

A little more digging shows there are actually two different issues at
play here. One of them (BadAlloc when using compiz) is indeed a

I agree, I have seen this on a Lenovo T60 myself. And it also occurs on my

I disagree with the sync.
Dapper has scim-bridge package, which builds a single binary package
scim-bridge. Now the Debian package builds four binary packages, none
of which is named scim-bridge, while overwriting files used to be
shipped by dapper's scim-bridge. Without proper Conflicts/Replace

Actually, after checking, I found that dapper's scim-bridge binary
package has NO file overlapping with 0.4.14-1's four binary packages.
So my previous statement was wrong, no Conflicts/Replaces relationship
is necessary. However, dapper users who installed scim-bridge will be
left with no upgrade
Bug confirmed on KMyFirewall 1.0 on Kubuntu 7.10 on 27-Dec-2007. Amy's
patch resolved the issue. Thanks Amy, and the compiled package was much
appreciated :D
