Installing the latest ALSA drivers and libs from alsa.org (as detailed
here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HdaIntelSoundHowto) solved my
problem, now I have sound working as normal (have not tested external
speakers or microphone).

I got update-manager 0.45.4 installed, and it still gives me no option to
upgrade, same goes for 0.45.2...
Nothing I did, including starting with a clean .update-manager folder shows me
the button to upgrade to feisty.
Are there any news and/or suggestions on this bug?
