An update again:
I restarted the machine after adding connection #2 from above with no
change. However, when Ubuntu came back up, I added connection #3. This
one showed in the list of connections to connect to, as well as the list
of connections to manage. I then looked at the difference in gconf
I didn't even know it had sounds. I'll try to replicate it now.

I am experiencing this in an X60s running i386 Gutsy with an Intel
ipw3945 card. Network manager does not associate. If I disable Network
Manager wireless, do:

I too believed that the problem lied with my mic, but i then realized
the problem actually lies with the sound recorded in Gnome. The problem
is simple: you can't play back the audio stream unless it's saved first,

Language Support tool in Administration :
I noticed that if you remove Open Office, then reinstall it without the
Open Office Gnome package, you can't input with scim in OO (it still
works for Firefox and other apps where it worked b

though, I really think there could be some troubleshooting steps. I

The NTFS-3G and the FUSE binaries need to be installed with ---exec-
prefix=/ onto the root file system to always ensure successful
automounts during boots. The "Write Support for NTFS" specification also

My previous assumption was not completely correct: it seems that nx is
not the problem. In fact:
If I log out of the automatically opened session with vnc before I try
to connect with nx, at-spi works fine in the nx session. Consequently, I
now wonder whether the problem is not that at-spi does no
gorkon ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) has invited you to
StumbleUpon!

I have the same problem, but I don't get the time-delay during booting.
My computer lockes completely after Ubuntu has started and nothing
seemes to help. I even tried to leave it on overnight to see if it would
'heale' it, but no...
I get the following error during boot: Loading hardware drives:
A bit less than 3 months without an answer, closing it.
Feel free to re-open it.

Testing with Ubuntu Gutsy Tribe-1 would also be interesting to see if
that issue is fixed in the kernel to come (as it seems to be

It's not the current default behaviour (as of Tribe-1), if you want to test it,
simply remove your /etc/X11/xorg.conf (or move it somewhere else), then restart
