If my dvd is NOT empty there is no problem ... if it's empty I randomly get
reports like
- ata2 failed to respond ...
- ata2: translated ATA stat/err
- cdrom (ioctl) error ...
that freezes the system ...
This problem not exists with kernel 2.6.12, it appears with 2.6.15 and
2.6.17

I'm pretty sure the Serivces dialog just runs the init.d script. I'm not
proposing to change the Services dialog at all; Merely change
/etc/init.d/avahi-daemon to make "start" and "stop" do just that. Then

This is not a bug. It's a suggestion to switch defaults. However this
should be discussed in a broader forum go get a consensus on it. I don't
think a bug report is good enough for that.
