I have the same problem on a physical machine at home.
Usplash loads until the bar is filled, and then the booting stops. If I press
Alt-F7 Xorg begins to load, it does not load in the background while I wait for
usplash to finish.
So this is not a problem with Vmware!

Everything is fine at installation time.
The problem is when I want to uninstall.
First, I want to say again that there is no more problem with /etc/resolv.conf.
This is fixed.

I think this may be actually a bug in ralink driver. I've checked with
PCMCIA ralink-based card and get the same results - NetworkManager
thinks it's a wired interface, and there's no entry in
/proc/net/wireless. An atheros-based card works pretty well.

I am experiencing this same problem on a desktop. The machine is based
on an AOpen i945GTm-VHL motherboard that uses laptop memory and a
Pentium-M cpu. I'm using a TV for the monitor, and the display is lost
(sync rate issue maybe) as the machine goes down, so I haven't a clue

I tried to recompile my kernel with "Power management options -> APM -> APM
BIOS support -> Enable PM at boot time" option enabled and everything went well
without acpi=force, which I was obliged to use in order to avoid hangs.

(a) removing the ultrabay battery
(b) inserting the ultrabay battery
(c) removing the internal battery

Yes, while you have scim-qtimm installed you can have 1 konsole/yakuake session
transparent.
If you want more than one session you have to uninstall scim-qtimm and restart
konsole.
I confirm this is still a problem on kubuntu edgy !

You were right! It's a sqlite2 database! If I remove the f-spot folder,
so that it creates a new one, then f-spot works! But with the old
database, it doesn't!
