I did some more testing on this last night, and it seems like
max_sectors is OK up to 128, but going any higher causes the device to
disconnect. after some more investigation, it appears like 128 matches
Windows XP's behavior, which explains why Windows doesn't bork on
transfers.

I am using Kubuntu now and by setting either Master or PCM to zero and

Yes, I still have that issue and it's really annoying. I don't think
this is a problem with a fresh Ubuntu-install because I haven't seen
it anywhere else.
On my second computer firefox runs just fine and I think I even use
the same extensions and no themes.
I still also have the mousescrolling
