This is fixed in the current edgy.
Proxy settings in gnome-preferences will be picked up via gnome-
terminal/gksu and the apt proxy settings will be honored too from the
update-manager/dist-upgrader.

After a basic install I put /var onto a logical volume. Everything's
okay, reboot and I just stared stupidly why dnscache went crazy saying
there's no loopback interface to bind to. :o

I try to compile with debug synaptic, but it doesn't work. When I launch gdb
synaptic and run, I see : (no debugging symbols found). Can I do a backtrace
without them ?
