There was a message when I did an apt-get update/upgrade and what not
telling me there was a ton of packages that I didn't need anymore, and
to clear them out do 'apt-get autoremove'. I did this, and it removed
pretty much the entire kubuntu-desktop package. Once it was co
im rejecting this on the grounds that it is fixed, and may have been an
apt-get update/upgrade issue done previously. if you think this bug
should remain open, go ahead and reopen it.

This afaik is expected behaviour, as base-config is now gone. I solved
this by letting the preseed/late-command write an init script that is
run after the first reboot (right after install). This iniscript then
removes itself so it doesn't run again.

respect fontconfig-hinting-settings (fontconfig trouble was reported in

more in detail: kgpg (editor component) crashes every time after

The package in ubuntu dapper completely misses the templates for the
various cd/dvd cases.
When you save a cover and, later, you try to reload it you get an error
of unknown cd case.
To fix the problem I downloaded the sources from kde-apps.org and copied
manually the cd/dvd
and right after I made the changes... :( I realized it's still not
correct. please reject those 2 packages. I'm sorry about that.
Please add nautilus (for the failure to directly copy the files) and
file-roller because those are the packages that couldn't handle the
job...

I have fixed the problem upstream in foomatic-db-engine. The fixed
version lets CUPS only list printer/driver combos which really produce a
PPD files. So CUPS-1.2-based printer setup frontends will not show
unusable printer driver combos any more.

Just a short comment that might be useful in the tracing process.
In 9 of 10 cases the freeze occurs while starting "Evince" (opening one
or more PDF-files).
I have not experienced this PDF-freeze in single monitor-mode, only in
dual.
