I don't think booting from raid makes any difference here. The crc error
comes from the kernel that can't unpack the initramfs and as a
consequence the modules required to access the raid are not loaded.

Err, booting directly from the RAID using lilo or grub? If you're using
lilo, it's known that after regenerating an initramfs, you may have to
re-run lilo by hand.

Could this backported to Dapper? It took me a long time
to figure out why debootstrab in the installer works and installs
the base system, but not the installation of the rest of the packages
inside the chrooted /target.
And this included grub, so I couldn't boot into the new (halfway installed)

Should be fixed to edgy with rhythmbox 0.9.5 according to the upstream
bug, marking as fixed. Feel free to reopen if you still get the issue
with edgy

Oh dear! it was that I was missing a codec package
(libxine-extracodecs) ! This is so bad that I must install
additional codecs to watch dvb-t :(

Can I supply more information? This bug is really very annoying because
it crashes my X regularly (about once per day). Yesterday I didn't
reboot immediately and it wrote my root partition full with 8 GB of logs
("Freeing resource id=... which isn't there."). I don't think this
bug is unconfirm

app in Ubuntu" you are mentionning? Rhythmbox acts the other way around
and upstream pointed a rhythmbox bug about it
