Thanks for the reply. I still have no solution. I think it could be
xine that's causing the issue. That is the sound and video player used
by Me-Tv. Good to know it's not just me with the problem. I'm in New
Zealand

will play back recorded Me-Tv programmes just fine, but Me-Tv has no

Thanks for the clarification. I can confirm that libxine1-all-plugins
are installed. I can record from Me-Tv and when played back in xine
player, no sound is evident. When playing the same recorded programme
back in VLC player, video and sound are all okay. I think my issue is

libxine-all-codecs but did load another couple of libxine packages from
Synaptic but still no sound. As per your instructions I then recorded

my way round me-tv. I restarted doing all the things suggested
previously, recognising that I needed to change channels at least to
affect the audio driver change. Also, thanks for letting me know how to

I have slowly worked through the items you suggest. I can confirm that
Me TV has streams and shows 0: eng (MPEG 4). I then went into changing
the audio driver by selecting each of the options away from ALSA on the

from the software centre and have run the application. It works just
fine and will load a video file with both video and sound. I guess
that's a little different than receiving a signal from a TV card, but
