"Not available in the GUI" implies, at least to me, that there will be
a GConf (GSettings?) key for it, as there is now.

This "regression" affects primarily does take "dock" the laptop, close the
lid and use an external monitor. But if you have an external keyboard and
mouse, which you need if you close the lid!, then you have a simple
solution: touch the mouse and the blank screen is gone. A regression, but
not that
Matt and mac, did this appear recently (as in since 2.27.5-0ubuntu1)?
