Thanks for getting back to me. I thought I had closed this. I sold my computer
in order to get a ticket home, so no computer = no ubuntu. Will be up and
running again in the near future.

Ps I have got rid of firefox and have tried epiphany and opera web
browsers. Both have the same problem

I used IE6,7 and I think 8. All had problems. I have tried Epiphany and Opera
and they run much smoother, no sound issues, though any web content watched in
full screen is jerky. Firefox though is unwatchable in fullscreen.
