I have not metapackage named 'linux-headers-generic' installed.
I tried to install it now, it installed three packages
'linux-headers-2.6.38-15', 'linux-headers-2.6.38-15-generic',
'linux-headers-generic' and ran dkms:
{
sudo apt-get install linux-headers-generic

NO, that's a different package. The package I'm referring to is is a
metapackage named 'linux-headers-generic'. Do you have that installed?

No. From my bug description you can see that:
1. VirtualBox failed to launch,
2. VirtualBox failed to recompile the module with DKMS because of no headers
for new kernel
3. VirtualBox compiled its module normally after manual installation of headers.
I think that headers must be installed
Shouldn't the linux-headers-generic package take care of that
automatically?
