Okay, i'm a total linux noob but for some reason I managed to fix this.
1) edit file
> gksu gedit /usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/paths/analog-output.conf.common
2)
search for
[Element PCM]
switch = mute
volume = merge
override-map.1 = all
override-map.2 = all-left,all-right
and change it i
** Also affects: alsa-driver
