Title:
mythfrontend should use the eject command
Well since this was rejected upstream, and their argument for it makes
sense (especially on a desktop system), i'd prefer to just leave it as
is for now. Changes like this can be performed locally via dpkg-divert
as necessary.

Nope, gnome-volume-manager is not running.
AFAIK the list of running processes doesn't show anything suspicious, but for
completeness I include it here as an attachment.

Do you have gnome-volume-manager or anything similar running when trying

Ok, I finally managed to spend some time to retrieve the requested mythfrontend
output. See the attached file.
My system does not use automount.
The output doesn't look very helpful though. It seems that myth correctly
identifies my AD-7170S DVD-RW drive.
No pointers to failing eject functionali

mounted.
If the eject function doesn't work i

Status:
I can confirm this issue on my amd64 box with Feisty installed with all updates.
The internal eject functionality doesn't work for my NEC AD-7170S DVD-RW drive
(SATA).
The indicated workaround works like a charm, but I agree with Timothy Smith
that mythtv should use /usr/bin/eject by default.
