Hi again.
That might be because there was a crash report in /var/crash, and when you
launched liferea, apport asked you to upload it.
So you just have to remove the crash report from /var/crash, and then try again.

Very strange development.
I've not been running Liferea choosing to wait till I've updated to
Feisty to see if the problem persists. Imagine my surprise when I got
the same error message this morning even though I have'nt run Liferea
since the last unexpected close error.

It took a couple of days for the problem to rear its head again but I
can confirm that there was no liferea process running at the time of the
previous shutdown..
I'll be upgrading to Feisty in a couple of weeks and let you know if the
problem persists.

Can you confirm before shutting down that there is no liferea process?
You can view it running:
ps -A | grep liferea
Also, can you see if this happens with Liferea in Feisty?
