I'd like to add, that I use the 32bit pae kernel instead of the 64bit
kernel Bilal Akhtar uses and I have an ASUS eee T101MT (most likely a
different laptop).
I also noticed that when I plug anything (mic, headphone, pc-speaker
cable, whatever) into the microphone socket, the external mic does
