>From http://www.x.org/wiki/Development/Documentation/ServerDebugging:
Likewise, some gdb versions crash when starting the X server when
attempting to run xkbcomp. This is, amazingly enough, a bug in the
kernel's DRM code for suppressing some signals; it should be fixed in
2.6.28 if not earlier. Y
You are right, I started X using startx (without lightdm) and it crashed
as well:
Backtrace:
0: /usr/bin/X (xorg_backtrace+0x37) [0xf05f87]
1: /usr/bin/X (0xd7e000+0x18bd0a) [0xf09d0a]
2: (vdso) (__kernel_rt_sigreturn+0x0) [0xaa640c]
3: /usr/bin/X (XkbComputeControlsNotify+0x123) [0xeb7bf3]
4: /us
Thank you for your bug report, that's a segfault in X itself, not a
lightdm bug
** Package changed: lightdm (Ubuntu) => xorg-server (Ubuntu)
