"compiz --replace" doesn't recover from this issue.
After some time it is also seen with gedit and other apps. And after even more
time key presses don't make text visible.

The problem seems to only occur when the window size is diffent than
- 80x24.
+ 80x24. And ONLY in Unity 3d. The problem doesn not occur in Unity 2d
This is what I do to produce the problem:
