Leonidas Spyropoulos, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't
been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-
Same happens on Dell Vostro 3700, Ubuntu 12.10 64-bit with the daily
update from today (3.0.27 kernel). Have kernel headers too because had
to compile wlan drivers. No other proprietary drivers are installed.

Thanks for coming back to me on this. I did as suggested and tried 3.4-rc1
upstream kernel. It loaded fine on ubuntu. When I tried to reproduce the bug by
doing a suspend the laptop froze in black screen (i suppose it was splash
screen) and I had to force turn it off by hol
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.4kernel[1] (Not a kernel in the daily directory). Once you've tested
the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag(Only
that one
