As Ubuntu stopped supporting my video card I couldn't check any thing
(working now on mandriva 2009). If ubuntu 8.10 will be out with the new
kernel I'll wait for it's first beta and install it.

thanks for remembering! - In my own special case this seems to be fixed.
I can not confirm the bug any more since Hardy Heron. It may have been
gone on my Asus M2N (i810) with the above already mentioned bug (
https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-
source-2.6.20/+bug/83290 ).
The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:
1) If you are comfortable
It unfortunately appears that this bug is not yet resolved. Does this
issue still exist in the Hardy Heron 8.04 LTS release? If so, the
Intrepid Ibex 8.10 Alpha2 is also scheduled for release today. It will

I have the same problem as above. The problem seems to be that the sound
card is not recognized anymore. There is no sound but the system bell.
I use a centrino laptop. The sound-card must be the i810 from Intel. I
