Where can I get the latest kernel from - I went to where I thought was
the appropriate Ubuntu place and I ended up getting an older kernle than
I currently have! - most frustrating The only location I an find is
cdimage.ubuntu.com/release/precise/beta-1

Do you have a serial console? If not, what you are probably seeing as a
"hangs for no apparent reason" is probably a bug with video output.
