I fixed that Linux-Menu-Bug in the bug-report LP #94425 ... maybe it's working
for you until ubuntu fix it.
It's the same source but with 2 bug fixes.

When I filed the bug I was using Feisty Fawn, which then was on
development, and gimmie 0.2.4 if I remember correctly. I'm on Gutsy now
but sadly gimmie crashes on me when I launch the Linux Menu, so I can't
reproduce the bug.
