Try going to System - Preferences - Appearance, Fonts, and setting the Rendering to Subpixel smoothing and then in the details button, to full Hinting. Additionally, you could also try this out: http://tombuntu.com/index.php/2008/10/15/tweak-your-font-rendering-for- better-appearance/ -- feisty
