Try going to System - Preferences - Appearance, Fonts, and setting the
Rendering to Subpixel smoothing and then in the details button, to full
Hinting.

Yes, I agree with that. Fonts look very unpolished and it affects
usability of the menu, I think it is quite a drawback for its use.
