Update: Lot of problems so tried to install 32bit Mint Linux over
Ubuntu without formatting the drive. First attempt ended with a Kernel
write error. Tried again now with swiping the drive clean with a new
formating. This time installation was a success and no problems so far.

Started google-chrome from terminal and after page freezing and crash
report several "Gdk-WARNING **: XID collision, trouble ahead" messages
on terminal.
