tracked, could you please file a new report with Ubuntu by executing the
following in a terminal while booted into a Ubuntu repository kernel (not a
mainline one) via:
ubuntu-bug linux
For more on this, please read the
@penalvch If the C660 brightness controls don't work out of the box with
Ubuntu should this bug be closed/invalid? I always come back to this
issue after a reinstall to find my comment above. Seems it should be
fixed somehow in Unbuntu but I don't know how to triage it.

regarding this being fixed by installing nvidia-current. For future
reference you can manage the status of your own bugs by clicking on the
current status in the

Log out and logged back in and brightness control works
Hi,
I have fixed my problem by installing nvidia-current (through Synaptics package
manager) which was not installed.
After installation I had to add this line in the Device section of xorg.conf :
on "RegistryDwords" "EnableBrightnessControl=1"
After reboot it works.
Can we close this case ?
